Judith Burton

Judith Ann Burton was born Judith Ann Smith, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended grades three through twelve in San Francisco public schools. Her interest in art began at an early age and by the time she was in high school she was painting in oils.

Judith Ann Burton received her Bachelor’s degree in Art from Pacific Lutheran University and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Sonoma State University. And worked as a teacher and counselor in the public schools for twenty years.

Since her retirement from the educational field twelve years ago, she has dedicated herself to the pursuit of art.  Mrs. Burton has received numerous awards in exhibitions throughout the Central Valley.

Judith has work in private and corporate collections around the world. This includes work in the permanent collection at the California State Capitol Building the Merced Multicultural Center and Dominoes Pizza headquarters; her work is in private collections internationally. Her work toured throughout California with the prestigious Yosemite Renaissance XX exhibition in 2005.  Judith is represented by the Mariposa County Arts Council Gallery in Mariposa, CA.

She has solo shows at The University of California, Merced, The Mariposa Arts Council Gallery, Mariposa, CA, Playhouse Merced and Bishop’s on the Square  in Merced, CA.  Mrs. Burton is exclusively displayed at Holistic Xchange, Inc. Merced, CA. She has upcoming shows at the Hourian Fine Arts Gallery,San Francisco  and the Chartreuse Muse in Modesto, CA. She currently lives and works in Merced, CA.
